In a study of American women over 70, those with low blood levels of vitamin D were 2 1/2 times more likely to die in 6 years than those with high blood levels.
The recommended daily dosage, according to the National Academy of Sciences, should be increased to 800 - 1,000 units of Vitamin D.

Some believe a lack of Vit D causes multiple sclerosis. (which I have) My level was tested for the first time a few years ago, too low, I moved to a sunny apt. and raised it back to normal. Born in Indiana and never a sun lover, hated milk, who knows? My bond density tests have always been fine, but when it comes to D-the more the better, just don't get burned in sun, moderation in all things!
